Support for CEI is provided by federal agencies, private foundations, and nonprofit associations. Federal agencies supporting CEI include the National Science Foundation (NSF), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), the U.S. Department of Education Institute for Education Sciences (IES), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. NSF supports our work through the Directorate for Computer & Information Science & Engineering and the Directorate for Education & Human Resources. NSF programs supporting our work include the Human-Centered Computing Program, the CreativeIT Program, the Cyber-Human Systems Program, the Discovery Research K-12 Program, the EHR Core Research Program, the Informal Science Education Program, the Computing Education for the Twenty-First Century Program, and the Research and Evaluation on Education in Science and Engineering Program.
