Kirby Culbertson is a digital artist with the Center for Educational Informatics at North Carolina State University. He received his Master of Art and Design from North Carolina State University and his B.S. degree in Studio Art from Virginia Polytechnic University. Mr. Culbertson is responsible for leading the design efforts on multiple game-based learning and intelligent tutoring systems projects. He oversees and coordinates the work of the design team, which consists of both graduate and undergraduate design students.
Mr. Culbertson joined the Center for Educational Informatics in 2013 and has collaborated on several game-based learning projects including Crystal Island: Lost Investigation which was nominated for Best Serious Game at the 2012 Unity Awards and the 2012 I/ITSEC Serious Games Showcase and Challenge. Mr. Culbertson’s interests include illustration, user interface design, and game design with a focus on animation and character rigging.
